Jyden Schmid, a sophomore at San Diego Mesa College, won the men's 4-mile race in 19:09.4 at the California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Regional Championships at El Dorado Regional Park in Long Beach. Schmid, who was 24th at the state final last season, helped the Olympians place second overall as a team by a 40-43 margin behind Mount San Antonio College, which captured its first men's regional title since 2018.
