Samantha Medrano, a sophomore at Glendale Community College, took third in the women's 5-kilometer race in 17:47.8 at the California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Regional Championships at El Dorado Regional Park in Long Beach. Medrano, who elevated from ninth place last season, helped the Vaqueros finish fourth overall as a team with 170 points.
