Ernesto Ruiz, a sophomore at Riverside City College, finished fifth in the men's 4-mile race in 19:30.8 at the California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Regional Championships at El Dorado Regional Park in Long Beach. Ruiz, who elevated from 35th place last season, helped the Tigers place fourth overall as a team with 141 points.
